A love founded on taking leaps.

The Timeline

  • Jen and Sean see each other from across the room at the W Hotel in Times Square where Sean was singing in a concert...they don't exchange a single word

  • Jen follows Sean on Instagram (a casual flirt) 

  • Sean follows back along with liking three photos (classic)

  • Sean wonders if Jen’s follow meant anything or not

  • Jen mockingly posts about Trader Joe's having pumpkin spice flavored dog treats

  • This is his in

  • Sean slides into the DMs with something irresistibly charming and funny, followed soon by "what are you doing tomorrow night?"

  • Jen relays this info to her girlfriend Taylor (whose couch she was sitting on at that time) Taylor, who knew Sean, gives the green light, along with saying something like "this personality combination will either be absolutely perfect or a disaster"

First Date

Casellula Cheese & Wine Bar 

  • Jen was very newly single and was absolutely not looking for anything serious

  • She considered cancelling the date because she was having a great time at the Lazerow Family's Rosh Hashanah dinner

  • Sean got to Casellula early to secure the best seats at the bar and ordered a bottle of wine in anticipation of Jen's arrival

  • She didn't cancel

  • The date went incredibly well

  • They sat knee to knee at the bar, and Sean asked to kiss Jen VERY early into the date. No one will ever know if it was less than 20 minutes (Jen’s story) or over 1 hour (Sean’s story)

  • At the end of the date, they discuss enjoying a "fall moment" in upstate New York

Second Date

Bluestone Burrow

  • Sean sends a link to a very chic Airbnb he found, and Jen instantly knew he could hang

  • One steamy evening in the hot tub, they did what any couple would do on a second date... the 130-question Myers Briggs personality test

  • The results clearly showed that Taylor was right - they were both the exact same personality type, ESTJ-A, Assertive Executive

  • By the end of the weekend they had picked the location for their third date - Spain

This is the start of a partnership that will change their lives forever.

Third Date

Spain

Let the record reflect that it was more of a transactional decision. Very much a "What's the worst that can happen? At least we’ll both get to go to Spain if this doesn’t work out.” vibes.

 

They had a marathon 10-day “third date” in Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Ronda, Granada, Palma De Mallorca, and Barcelona. People definitely thought they were crazy, but it’s ok because it has been working out so far.  They both attribute this very early decision to trust each other and take a big leap to have set the tone for their partnership.

The next six years of travel and experiences shape the two of them and form an unbreakable bond.

Travel, adventure, and seeking out new experiences have been the constant in our partnership. We’ve grown into the team we are while being out of our comfort zones together. We’ve had trials and tribulations, sickness and wellness, and have even found ourselves in dangerous situations. We've experienced food that has left us speechless. We've had our eyes well up with tears of joy inside our scuba masks, or while marveling at mountains. We hope that the foundation we've built will only continue to grow stronger throughout our partnership, and help us feel safe to continue to take leaps together.
